About Uniting Communities
Aged care at Uniting Communities
Uniting Communities has a long history of providing aged care services to the community, beginning in 1944 with the opening of the Aldersgate aged care residence.
Today, Aldersgate still operates in Felixstow and, along with our Murray Mudge residence in Glenelg, continues to provide high-quality care and accommodation to older people in the community.
Both residences offer quality support to enable you to maintain a fulfilling and active lifestyle. As a resident, you can enjoy regular outings, group and individual activities, and on-site church services. Your family and friends are always welcome to visit, and there is also the chance for you to form friendships with other residents.
In addition to residential care, Uniting Communities offers a range of services to support older people wanting to maintain their independence at home. For example, this could include domestic assistance, transport, shopping or personal care, among other services. We also support you to stay in touch with the community through activities and outings.
Our allied health program can also support your wellbeing and independence, with services such as physiotherapy, podiatry, social work, exercise classes and occupational therapy, as well as cognition classes for an active mind.
Whatever you require, we can work closely with you – and your caregivers if you wish – to develop a package of services that will best suit your needs.
Uniting Communities has been operating in South Australia for more than 115 years, providing a range of services – including aged care, disability, mental health, counselling and more – to more than 30,000 people across the state each year.
